Ligue 1 gets exciting at last
The words Ligue 1 and exciting arent necessarily mutually compatible. In fact, the French league still has the lowest goal average of any of the 5 major European championships. Where have all the World-Class German players gone?
A recent poll by a well respected football magazine last month of the World's current 100 top players included just 4 German players in it. Thats only 1 more than Mali, a country that barely can compete with Germany in terms of football pedigree, history and resources. The perceived dearth of German quality hasnt gone unnoticed with one commentator during the Stuttgart-Bayern match echoing that same sentiment.
