After impressing during the Dutch run to the quarter finals at Euro 2008, centre-back Joris Mathijsen is being tracked by several Premiership clubs including Newcastle, Sunderland and Blackburn. The HSV Hamburg defender has been one of the key parts of the Dutch defence at Euro 2008 playing alongside Andre Ooijer at the heart of the team.

It seems as if Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar won’t be heading to Manchester United despite earlier reports heavily linking the Ajax striker with a move to Old Trafford. On Sunday night Marseille make the trip of about 130 miles along the Mediterranean coast to play near neighbours and close rivals Monaco in the French league on Sunday. Barcelona to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to Metz starlet?

Reports yesterday have suggested that Barcelona have jumped to the head of the sizeable queue to sign Metz's Bosnian starlet Miralem Pjanic in the summer. The 18 year old has broken through into the Metz first team this season and has been one of the few bright spots for the French side as they are anchored to the bottom of the league and facing relegation at the end of the season.
