Greece’s one to watch: Vasilis Torosidis

With just 3 players under the age of 25 in the Greek squad there wasn’t going to be much competition for the tag of player to watch. Nevertheless the Olympiacos full back has a glittering career potentially ahead of him and could well follow in the foot steps of fellow Greek right back Giourkas Seitaridis, who moved to Porto after the 2004 tournament.

Greece – Can lightening strike twice?

The defending Champions of the European Championships, Greece will have a lot more expectation on their shoulders in 2008 than they did in 2004. The previous international minnows stunned the football world by claiming the tournament 4 years previously. Since 2004, Greece have failed to follow that victory up in Portugal by not making it through to the World Cup in Germany 2 years ago, as well as suffering a string of other disappointing international results such as at the Confederations Cup in 2005.
