Town Information
Guimarães is a historic university town with an abundance of traditional Portuguese architecture and culture. It was the birthplace of the first Portuguese king and was the first capital. The local club, Vitoria Guimarães, were established in the 1920's and have generally been in the top division without winning much.
Transport
The stadium is near the centre of Guimarães, close to the main square, the Praca do Toural. The main railway station is just to the south and trains regularly depart for Porto.
