A NOTE ON BODY MASS INDEX (BMI): it is calculated by taking the weight of the individual in kilograms and dividing by the square of the height in metres. According to the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute, a score of below 18.5 means that you are underweight and a score of over 25 means you are overweight. Alarmingly, this means that 55 World Cup players are overweight; only 2 are underweight. Thankfully, none are obese and I guess the excess weight is probably muscle in most cases.
