The 11th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup took place in the United States from the 5th-25th June 2011 at thirteen venues across the country. Twelve teams contested the tournament, initially split into three groups of four, with the top two from each group plus the two best third placed teams going through to the quarter finals.

The qualified teams were: United States (hosts), Mexico (holders), Canada (qualified automatically), Cuba, Jamaica, Guadeloupe and Grenada, who all qualified from the Caribbean zone and Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama, who all qualified from the Central American zone.
